I've been thinking a lot about New Years Resolutions and just how utterly painful they are. We spend a month thinking about what we truly need to commit too, we plan out how we are totally going to be successful. We spend the holidays talking about all the great planning we have done and how this time, it's going to stick. Shortly after January however, we realize that our plans of grandeur are crumbling. We are hating every second of our resolution and we start to ignore our slipping commitment.
So, why do we do this? Why do we impose these rules then using our best Tony Robbins, Tim Feriss habit forming muscles? We put reminders of our commitments in calendars, on sticky notes and even buy technology to help support these mountainous claims on new life [enter fitbit here]. We truly believe that THIS time we will conquer it. After all, this is a new way of thinking! We have designed our life to include it. So why then, does February/March come along and we are finding every excuse why it didn't work?
You cannot sail a boat without understanding the wind.
Resolutions unfortunately, are like standing strong in a storm. If we are going to stand up against the force of our own nature, we need to be better prepared. All the calendar notifications and watch bands in the world aren't going to be able to stop your force. So how do we find the strength to use the force for good?
Not to get too Yoda on your ass - but we need to be the force. The power inside us needs to be rooted in who we are. We need to understand what needs to change about us so that we can face the hard things. We need to belong to ourselves and own who we are so that when hard things come our way, we have a strong foundation to help us stand up for ourselves.
Welcome to the 2018 Feeling Revolution.
This Revolution is about getting to the root of who you are and how you show up in the world. It is about being proud of what you bring to the world and taking responsibility for how you want to feel.
I designed this to Revolution to be as engaging or as private as you need. There is no charge and no commitment but there are pieces that you can access, be active in or just be an observer. The goal is to commit to yourself, not a group.
So, subscribe to the program. Get the workbook and spend some time going through it and commit yourself to 3 feelings in 2018. You will be absolutely shocked everyday how you can do hard things, how much you belong to yourself already and how what you commit too can change the world.
